LOSS OF A NEWCASTLE STEAMER
The Crew Destroyed
The small steamer Jubilant, of Newcastle, 61 tons net, owned by Mr David Morris, Pelaw Main, Newcastle, which has been missing since she left Maldon for the Tyne, in November, has been now treated as lost, and apparently foundered in the gale of the 29th of that month. The names of the crew were W.H. Handsley (master), W.H. Handsley, jun. (mate), Michael Robertson (A.B.), William Vernon (engineer), and a fireman whose name cannot be traced. The usual official account of the crew required by the Board of Trade, has been received at the Mercantile Marine Office, Newcastle.
